If you are dreaming of becoming a qualified pediatrician in the UK, MRCPCH is the best option that  opens up numerous job opportunities. The MRCPCH AKP is a crucial step for pediatric trainees and doctors on their journey towards the coveted MRCPCH qualification. Here, we discuss the ins and outs of the MRCPCH AKP Exam.

MRCPCH AKP Exam

The Applied Knowledge in Practice (AKP) is one of the three theory exams to complete, followed by a clinical exam in attaining the RCPCH membership. This exam is designed to assess your knowledge, understanding, and clinical decision-making , ensuring you have the standard of those entering core specialist training.

MRCPCH AKP Exam Pattern

The MRCPCH AKP exam comprises two papers, each lasting two hours and 30 minutes. You will have to answer a mix of best-of-five questions, extended matching questions, etc. The scores from the two papers are combined to create an overall mark, but each can contribute the same total.

How Many Attempts for the MRCPCH AKP Exam?

RCPCH allows six attempts to pass every MRCPCH exam, including AKP. If you believe you have reasonable grounds, you can appeal your exam result.

Will You Receive MRCPCH Exam Feedback?

Every candidate completing an MRCPCH exam will receive examination performance feedback. Regardless of pass or fail, the feedback provides valuable insight into your strengths and weaker areas.
