Are you a medical professional who completed the MRCPCH theory exams and are aiming for the final part, MRCPCH Clinical? Here is an important update for you. The RCPCH will soon open the booking window for the MRCPCH Clinical diet 2 exam in 2025 in the UK. The exam is scheduled to take place in hospital centres across the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland).

As per the official information, the booking window for the upcoming exam will open on 24th March 2025 and close on 31st March 2025. The exams are scheduled to take place between 7th and 22nd June 2025.

Please note that the application window will open at 9:30 and close at 16:30 (UK time).

MRCPCH Clinical exam 2025: A quick overview

The MRCPCH Clinical exam is the final and practical exam for the MRCPCH qualification. It tests your clinical skills to ensure you meet the required ST4 standards.

Exam format: Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE)

Number of stations: 10

Duration: 2 hours and 40 minutes (approximately)

MRCPCH Clinical 2025: Eligibility criteria

To be eligible to sit for the MRCPCH Clinical exam in 2025, you must meet the following criteria:

• Have successfully completed all three MRCPCH theory exams.
• A minimum of two and a half years of training since graduation.
• Paediatric experience:
  • At least 12 months in roles involving emergency paediatric care within the last 5 years.
  • Six months as a house paediatrician in the first year post-graduation. If not, an additional six months in a post involving the care of emergency paediatric patients.
• Pass the clinical exam within 7 years of completing the final theory exam.
• The candidates must be proposed by two sponsors (a senior colleague or educational supervisor) who will certify that you have a good period of training in paediatrics and can be considered as ready to take the exam.
