What is MRCPCH?
The Membership of the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health is a prestigious PG certification from the RCPCH, the governing body of Pediatricians in the UK. Recognised worldwide as a leader in Child Healthcare, their coveted certification is considered a stepping stone for global medical practice, as well as higher specialty training, etc. It consists of three theory papers and a final Clinical Examination test. The certification is divided into MRCPCH Foundation of Practice (FOP)/ Theory and Science (TAS), and MRCPCH Applied Knowledge in Practice (AKP), which they take in whichever order they prefer, as well as an in-person MRCPCH Clinical Examination. The Clinical Examination consists of 10 different stations ranging across Short Clinical, Development, History, Communication, and Video stations.
Eligibility
The eligibility criterion for all three theory exams, including MRCPCH FOP/TAS is a Primary Medical Qualification.
- A degree of MBBS or equivalent from a World Directory of Medical Schools listed institution.
- RCPCH recommends an English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS Level 7 or above, although not mandatory.

Booking Guidelines
Candidates must register on the RCPCH website for an online account at least ten days prior to the opening of the exam booking window. Once the exam booking window is open, candidates will have to use the same account to block their MRCPCH FOP/TAS slot.
- Log in to your RCPCH Account.
- On MyAccount, click on the link in the Exams panel to open the booking system.
- In the subsequent page, your exam dashboard, you can find your exam progress, available exams, etc,.
- From the Available Bookings, select and apply for the MRCPCH FOP/TAS examination.
- Select the delivery method, location, etc, as per your convenience and complete the booking.
- Ensure all details are correct, and up to date, before making a payment and completing your application.
- Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive a confirmation mail. Additionally, you will also receive mail 3-4 weeks before the exam with your admission documents, including details such as timing, location, etc.
