MRCPCH Exam Overview
MRCPCH FOP
MRCPCH FOP (Foundation of Practice) is one of the three theory examinations to secure membership in the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. This examination is designed to test the basic knowledge of the candidates in assessing and handling medical conditions and evaluates whether they meet the basic standards for training.

MRCPCH TAS
MRCPCH TAS (Theory and Science) is the second of the three theory examinations required for MRCPCH and can be attempted on the same day as the MRCPCH FOP examination. MRCPCH TAS evaluates the candidate’s understanding of the basic scientific, physiological, and pharmaceutical principles as well as clinical knowledge.

MRCPCH AKP
The MRCP AKP (Applied Knowledge in Practice) evaluates the technical expertise and clinical decision-making skills of the candidates. There are two papers in this examination, which can be attempted on the same day.

MRCPCH CLINICAL
MRCPCH CLINICAL is the final stage of assessment for the MRCPCH Certification. This stage is a practical examination that assesses the clinical expertise of the candidates and evaluates how the candidate handles the patients and their medical conditions.

- Number of stations: 10
- Exam duration: 2 hours and 40 minutes (approximately)
