If you are a medical professional planning to take the MRCPCH Clinical exam in the UK this year, here is an important update for you. The RCPCH will soon close the booking window for the MRCPCH Clinical diet 2 exam in the UK for 2025. As per the official information, the exam booking window, which was opened on 24th March, 2025, will close on 31st March 2025.

The exams are scheduled to take place between 7th and 22nd June 2025 in hospital centres across the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland). So, if you have not submitted your application yet, you must act fast to secure your spot. The application window will close at 16:30 (UK time) on March 31st.

MRCPCH Clinical exam 2025

The MRCPCH Clinical exam is the last assessment you need to crack in order to achieve the ‘MRCEM’ title. It is an Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE), and it tests your clinical and communication skills to ensure you meet the required ST4 standards. The exam consists of 10 stations in total, and the exam duration is 2 hours and 40 minutes (approximately).

Eligibility criteria for MRCPCH Clinical

To be eligible to sit for the MRCPCH Clinical, the candidates must meet some criteria.

• Successfully completed all three MRCPCH theory exams.
• A minimum of 2.5 years of training since graduation.
• Paediatric experience:
  • At least 12 months in roles involving emergency paediatric care within the last 5 years.
  • Six months as a house paediatrician in the first-year post-graduation. If not, an additional six months in a post involving the care of emergency paediatric patients.
• The clinical exam must be passed within 7 years of completing the final theory exam.
• The application must be supported by two sponsors (senior colleagues or educational supervisors) who will certify that you have a good period of training in paediatrics and can be considered as ready to take the exam.
